Founded in 1982, LUDO ASBL is an association dedicated to promoting games as a cultural activity. It brings together French-speaking toy and game libraries across Belgium, as well as various associations and individuals active in the gaming world.

For LUDO, play is much more than just a leisure activity. It is a way to bring people together, support education and learning, share knowledge and strengthen social cohesion, and it should remain accessible to everyone. The association therefore works to encourage play, support toy and game libraries, and promote access to high-quality games and toys.

LUDO also carries out extensive reflection, research and training around games and their uses. One of its main goals is to help games gain recognition as a fully fledged cultural activity, while encouraging inclusive, responsible and sustainable approaches to play.

The LUDO Label

Every year, the LUDO Label highlights a selection of recent family games, tested directly in toy and game libraries across Wallonia and Brussels.

Over several weeks, the finalist games circulate among participating libraries. Visitors can discover them, play them and then rate them according to different criteria, such as enjoyment, the quality of the components and their suitability for families.

There is no professional jury deciding the winner: the players themselves vote. The results collected from the different libraries are then combined to determine the winning game of the LUDO Label.
